SPECIFICATIONS AND OPTIONS Options DDUsing an optional AH-40 antenna The AH-40 ANTENNA has a cable with approximately 1.5 m (4.9 feet). You can place the antenna to the better location to receive and transmit while charging the transceiver using the BC-247 DOCKING STATION that is mounted on elsewhere. Example of use: External microphone AH-40 BC-247 NOTE: ••Be sure the antenna is positioned to the place without any obstacle. ••Use an external microphone or headset to transmit when the transceiver is attached to the BC-247. See page 16 for usable microphone or headsets. DDAbout an antennaʼs magnet base The AH-40 uses strong magnet base to attach the antenna to the place of your choice. DANGER! NEVER place or attach the antenna on electronic medical equipment, such as an implanted cardiac pacemaker. It may affect the operation of the equipment. This could be life endangering. BE CAREFUL not to pinch your finger when you attach the antenna. DO NOT put the antenna near a clock, television set (CRT type), magnetic compass or any magnetic/IC cards, credit cards, and so on. The magnet base may cause the products to malfunction or may erase the contents of magnetic storage devices. 17
