3 Maintaining Your Server Replacing Fans The chassis contains two replaceable system fans. The power supply fan(s) are not replaceable. Your replacement fan should be the same size and type as the fan you are removing. Replacing a Front System Fan Standard Hard Drive Bay Cage The front system fan is located inside the hard drive bay cage. To replace it, the cage must be removed. It is not necessary to remove the hard drives from the cage. 1. Remove the left access cover. 2. Remove the bezel. 3. Disconnect the fan cable from the server board. 4. Disconnect the cables from all hard drives. 5. Remove the two screws at the front of the hard drive bay cage and the two screws at the side of the cage. 6. Slide the cage from the chassis. It may be necessary to push the cage out from the back. 7. Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry up the four nylon rivets that hold the fan in place. 8. Slide the fan out through the fan opening. Replacing Fans
The chassis contains two replaceable system fans.
The power supply fan(s) are not replaceable.
Your replacement fan should be the same size and type as the fan you are removing.
Replacing a Front System Fan
Standard Hard Drive Bay Cage
The front system fan is located inside the hard drive bay cage.
To replace it, the cage must be
removed.
It is not necessary to remove the hard drives from the cage.
1.
Remove the left access cover.
