V-Chip Set Ratings Guidelines You can set your V-Chip to automatically block programming above a certain level using either the television or motion picture ratings systems, or both. If a program contains a rating above the levels you set, it will automatically be blocked from viewing unless the four-digit lock code is entered. Press the MENU button ›‚ ¥Š To V-CHIP To operate (Lock icon will appear) Press ZERO to access the V-Chip menu ¥Š ›‚ To turn V-Chip ON or OFF (V-Chip must be turned ON for rating settings to operate) To move to SET US TV RATINGS, SET MOVIE RATINGS, or SET CANADIAN RATINGS, (see following pages for descriptions of each item) V-CHIP V-CHIP ON SET US TV RATINGS SET MOVIE RATINGS SET CANADIAN RATINGS ENG SET CANADIAN RATINGS FRE UNRATED VIEW FINISH SELECT BY OPERATE BY EXIT BY EXIT V-CHIP Settings Menu To Set TV Ratings Levels Use the ›‚arrows to move to SET US TV RATINGS. Select this option by pressing ¥ or Š. The screen on the right will appear. Use the ›‚arrows to move up and down the columns. Press ¥or Š to turn the locking feature on or off. You may block an entire rating category like TV-14, or you may block individual items, like TV-14 shows with V (violence). To block an entire category, move the cursor to the top of a column, for example TV-14. Press ¥or Š. Lock icons will appear down the entire TV-14 column. All programs with a rating of TV-14 will be blocked. To block an individual item, use the ›‚arrows to move to the mark for the item you wish to block, for example TV-14 with Violence. Press ¥ or Š. The lock icon will appear in the TV-14 V space. All programs with a TV-14 V rating will be blocked. arrows to move to SET US TV RATINGS. Select this
option by pressing

. The screen on the right will appear. Use
the
arrows to move up and down the columns. Press

to turn the locking feature on or off.You may block an entire rating
category like TV-14, or you may block individual items, like TV-14
shows with V (violence).
To block an entire category, move the cursor to the top of a column,
for example TV-14. Press
