Doing more with your camera Understanding the dual lens icon The dual lens icon is briefly displayed when you enter or exit the ultra-wide angle range. Entering ultra-wide Exiting ultra-wide Changing the flash settings Press the flash button repeatedly to scroll through flash modes. The current flash mode is shown in the LCD status area. Flash mode Auto Flash Off Description The flash fires when the lighting conditions require it. The flash never fires. Fill The flash fires every time you take a picture, regardless of the lighting conditions. Use when the subject is in shadow or is "backlit" (when light is behind the subject). In low light, hold the camera steady or use a tripod. Red-Eye The camera automatically detects and removes red-eye from the picture. (For Red-Eye Pre-Flash, see page 32.) IMPORTANT: When the flash is set to Red-Eye, the camera cannot take more than 2 pictures in quick succession. Take more pictures when the Ready light turns green. Flash mode
Description
Auto
Flash
The flash fires when the lighting conditions require it.
Off
The flash never fires.
Fill
The flash fires every time you take a picture, regardless of the lighting
conditions. Use when the subject is in shadow or is “backlit” (when light
is behind the subject). In low light, hold the camera steady or use a tripod.
Red-Eye
The camera automatically detects and removes red-eye from the picture.

IMPORTANT:
When the flash is set to Red-Eye, the camera cannot
take more than 2 pictures in quick succession. Take
more pictures when the Ready light turns green.
