Chapter 5 Formatting a Picture Card You may need to format a Picture Card if the card becomes corrupted. When this happens, an error message appears on the LCD screen. See page 67 for error messages. 1 Turn the Mode dial to Setup . 2 Highlight the Format Card menu , then press Select. 3 Highlight the Format Card setting you want to use. CONTINUE FORMAT-erases all the information on the card and formats the Picture Card for use in the camera. CANCEL (default)-exits without making a change. 4 Press Select. CAUTION: Formatting erases everything, even protected pictures, from the Picture Card. Removing the Picture Card during formatting may damage the card. 43
