Troubleshooting Symptom Paper often jams. Printouts have black lines. Checkpoints Is the paper loaded correctly? - Is the paper of the supported type? Is it in good condition? Is the paper curled, folded or wrinkled? Are there any loose scraps or jammed paper in the machine? Are the slit glass and the Dual scanning area dirty? Corrective Actions Load the paper correctly. Change the orientation in which the paper is positioned. Remove the paper, turn it over, and reload it. Replace the paper with new paper. Remove any jammed paper. Clean the slit glass and the Dual scanning area. Reference Page 2-31 xl 2-31 2-38 2-31 2-31 12-21 11-12 Printouts are wrinkled or curled. Is the paper separator of the paper feed unit dirty? Is the paper damp? - Cannot print. Is the machine plugged in? Documents are printed improperly. Cannot print with USB memory. USB memory not recognized. Is the machine powered on? Are the printer cable and network cable connected? Was the machine powered on before the printer cable was connected? Is the print job paused? Are the application software settings at the PC set properly? Is the USB host blocked? - Clean the paper separator. 11-15 Replace the paper with new paper. Change the orientation in which the paper is positioned. Plug the power cord into an AC outlet. Turn on the main power switch. Connect the correct printer cable and network cable securely. Power on the machine after connecting the printer cable. 2-29 xl 2-31 2-38 - 3-2 2-3 2-3 Resume printing. Check that the printer driver and application software settings are set properly.
