User Manual for the NETGEAR 7200 Series Layer 2 Managed Switch Software config syslocation This command sets the physical location of the switch. The range for the name is from 1 to 31 alphanumeric characters. Default Format Blank config syslocation config syscontact This command sets the organization responsible for the network. The range for the name is from 1 to 31 alphanumeric characters. Default Format Blank config syscontact show arp switch This command displays connectivity between the switch and other devices. The Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) cache identifies the MAC addresses of the IP stations communicating with the switch. Format MAC Address IP Address Slot.Port show arp switch A unicast MAC address for which the switch has forwarding and/or filtering information. The format is 6 two-digit hexadecimal numbers that are separated by colons, for example: 01:23:45:67:89:AB The IP address assigned to each interface. This parameter denotes a valid slot number and a valid port number. show forwardingdb table This command displays the forwarding database entries. If the command is entered with no parameter, the entire table is displayed. This is the same as entering the optional all parameter. Alternatively, the administrator can enter a MAC Address to display the table entry for the requested MAC address and all entries following the requested MAC address. Format Mac Address show forwardingdb table [macaddr/all] A unicast MAC address for which the switch has forwarding and or filtering information. The format is 6 or 8 two-digit hexadecimal numbers that are separated by colons, for example, 01:23:45:67:89:AB. In an IVL system the MAC address will be displayed as 8 bytes.
