ProSafe Managed Switch joins a switch stack, its default stack member number changes to the lowest available member number in the stack. Stack members in the same switch stack cannot have the same stack member number. Every stack member, including a standalone switch, retains its member number until you manually change the number or unless the number is already being used by another member in the stack. See Renumber Stack Members on page 354. Stack Member Priority Values You can change a stack member priority. This is useful if you want to change the master of the stack. Use the following command (in the global config mode): switch unit priority value Install and Power-up a Stack Note: Many switch models such as the GSM7200PS and GSM7300S series have a Hardware Installation Guide that includes additional information about rack mounting and stack cabling.
