Basic Setup Troubleshooting Tips Here are some tips for correcting simple problems that prevent you from connecting to the Internet or connecting to the wireless travel router. Make sure the network settings of the computer are correct. • LAN and wirelessly connected computers must be configured to obtain an IP address automatically via DHCP. For instructions on how to do this, please see the animated tutorials on the NETGEAR 54 Mbps Wireless Travel Router WGR101 Resource CD (230-10081-02) or Appendix C, "Preparing Your Network." • The switch on the WGR101 must be in position 1 for a single user or in position 2 for multiple users. • If your hotel asks you to configure your PC with a fixed IP and you want to use the WGR101 with multiple computers, you may need to adjust the Basic Settings. See "Network Configuration" on page 6-1. • Do not connect the WGR101 directly to a DSL modem. This configuration is not supported.
