Vibration Reduction Press the d button M z tab (A9) M Vibration reduction Set to reduce the effects of camera shake while shooting. Set Vibration reduction to Off when using a tripod to stabilize the camera during shooting. Option g Normal (default setting) Z Active k Off Description Compensates camera shake that commonly occurs when shooting at telephoto zoom positions or slow shutter speeds. The camera automatically detects the panning direction and only compensates for vibration caused by camera shake. When the camera is panned horizontally, for example, vibration reduction only reduces vertical shake. If the camera is panned vertically, vibration reduction only compensates for horizontal shake. Camera shake is automatically compensated during shooting if a comparatively large camera shake is likely to occur when shooting from a car or under poor foothold conditions. Vibration reduction is disabled. B Notes About Vibration Reduction • After turning on the camera or after switching from playback mode to shooting mode, wait for the shooting mode screen to be displayed completely before taking images. • Images displayed in the camera monitor immediately after shooting may be displayed blurry. • Vibration reduction may be unable to completely eliminate the effects of camera shake in some situations.
