Selecting the Metering Mode You can select the metering mode that sets which part of the subject to measure to determine the exposure. 1. Rotate the mode dial to , , , or and turn your camera on by pressing the Power switch. 2. Press the MENU button, then use the four-way controller (X) to select the [Mode2] menu. 3. Use the four-way controller (T) to select [AE Metering], then press the button. Mode1 Mode2 Focus Drive Mode AE Metering Mode3 Std. OK : 4. Use the four-way controller (ST) to select the desired metering mode, then press the button. [ Center-weighted]: Averages the light metered from the entire frame, but gives greater weighted to the subject matter at the center. [ Spot]: The exposure is determined by the small area in the center of the screen only. 5. To exit the menu, press the MENU button. 6. Compose your subject within the focus frame. OK : 7.
