Balancing out or adjusting the reverse stitch length 1. The baIancingout key is used to adapt the stitch density in the buttonhole seam as well as the length of this seam (program 13). With this key set at - the stitch density in the buttonhole seam increases and the seam length decreases. With this key set at + the stitch density in the buttonhole seam decreases and the seam length increases. The length of the reverse stitches can be adjusted from -7 to +7, the normal setting being 0. 2.
