➲ By using the Settings menu, you can change the conditions for route calculation. For the details, see Chapter 6 "Number of Routes", "Fastest/Shortest", "Avoid Freeway", "Avoid Ferry", "Avoid Toll Road" on on pages 96 to 96. sSpecifying the area where you want to search The information stored in the disc is arranged by area. When your destination is searched, the Navigation System searches within the currently selected area. Therefore, if your destination is in another area, you must specify the area before searching for your destination. (Once the area is selected, the Navigation System searches for your destination in that area, until the area setting is next altered.) Here, Address Search is given as an example: 1 From the Main menu, select "New Destination", and then select "Address Search". 2 Select "Search area" and click the OK button. 3 Select the area you want to search, and click the OK button. When you are returned to the initial display, proceed to the searching operation. ➲ When performing "Phone number search", you do not need to specify the area. 48
