Installation Section 04 English ! If installation angle exceeds 30º from horizontal, the display unit might not give its optimum performance. ! Make sure you leave enough gap between the dashboard and the LCD panel of the display unit so the LCD panel can be opened and closed without contacting with the dashboard. Dashboard Leave gap ! The cords must not cover up the area shown in the figure below. This is necessary to allow the amplifiers and navigation mechanism to dissipate heat. The semiconductor laser will be damaged if it overheats, so don't install the display unit anywhere hot - for instance, near a heater outlet. ! When installing the hide-away unit in the trunk, use the extension cable (e.g. CDSC300E)(sold separately). ! Do not install the display unit in a position where the opening of the LCD panel is obstructed by any obstacles, such as the shift lever.
