When using an amplifier and decoder that are not Dolby Digital compatible, select LPCM. Setting digital and analog audio output You can set linear PCM audio output for both digital and analog output. Set audio output correctly to match the components you are using with this unit. ! When using digital connections, select 48kHz. ! When using analog connections, select 96kHz. Important If the setting is incorrect there will be no sound so be sure to read the manuals of the connected components. 1 Touch SETUP and AUDIO and then touch AUDIO OUT. 2 Touch either of the following touch panel keys to select the audio output setting. ! 48kHz  A 48 kHz signal is output regardless of the audio sampling frequency. A 96 kHz signal is converted to a 48 kHz signal. (initial setting) ! 96kHz  The signal is output with the same frequency as the audio sampling frequency. With a 96kHz signal, you can enjoy exceptionally high sound quality. Notes ! With discs featuring 96 kHz recording, if you select 96kHz, audio is not output from digital output. ! With discs that do not feature a CSS (Content Scrambling System) copy guard signal, a 96 kHz digital signal is output. ! When using this unit with a Pioneer multichannel processor (DEQ-P8000), select 48kHz. If you select 96kHz, no sound will be output when playing discs featuring 96 kHz recordings. Automatic playback of DVDs When a DVDs disc with DVD menu is inserted, this unit will cancel the DVD menu automatically and start playback from the first chapter of the first title. ! Some DVDs may not operate properly. If this function is not fully operated, turn this function off and start playback. 1 Touch SETUP and NEXT and then touch OTHERS. 2 Touch DVD A. kHz signal is converted to a 48 kHz signal.
