SAFETY RULES SERVICE • Servicing requires extreme care and knowledge and should be performed only by a qualified service technician. For service we suggest you return the product to your nearest AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTER for repair. When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. • Tool service must be performed only by qualified repair personnel. Service or maintenance performed by unqualified personnel may result in a risk of injury. Please call 1-855-378-6903 SPECIFIC SAFETY WARNINGS • Keep all parts of the body away from the saw chain. Make sure the switch is off when clearing jammed material. Saw chain continues to move after the switch is turned off. A moment of inattention while operating the extended-reach pruner may result in serious personal injury. • Carry the extended-reach pruner by the handle with the saw chain stopped. When transporting or storing the extended-reach pruner, always fit the saw chain device cover. Proper handling of the extendedreach pruner will reduce possible personal injury from the saw chain. • Hold the extended-reach pruner by insulated gripping surfaces only, because the saw chain may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. A saw chain contacting a "live" wire may make exposed metal parts of the extended-reach pruner "live" and could give the operator an electric shock. • Keep cable away from cutting area. During operation the cable may be hidden in shrubs and can be accidentally cut by the saw chain. • Do not use the extended-reach pruner in bad weather conditions, especially when there is a risk of lightning. This decreases the risk of being struck by lightning. • Always use two hands when operating the polesaw. Hold the extended-reach pruner. • Always use head protection when operating the extended-reach pruner overhead. Falling debris can result in serious personal injury. • Contact of the guide-bar tip with any object should be avoided. • Tip contact may cause the guide bar to move suddenly upward and backward, which may cause serious injury. • Wear safety glasses and hearing protection. Further protective equipment for head, hands, legs and feet is recommended. Adequate protective clothing will reduce personal injury by flying debris or accidental contact with the saw chain. • Do not operate a polesaw in a tree. Operation of a polesaw while up in a tree may result in personal injury. • Always keep proper footing and operate the polesaw only when standing on fixed, secure and level surface. Slippery or unstable surfaces such as ladders may cause a loss of balance or control of the polesaw. • When cutting a limb that is under tension be alert for spring back. When the tension in the wood fibers are released the spring loaded limb may strike the operator and/or throw the polesaw out of control. • Use extreme caution when cutting brush and saplings. The slender material may catch the saw chain and be whipped toward you or pull you off balance. • Carry the polesaw with one hand on the rear handle and one on the shaft, with the polesaw switched off and away from your body. Proper handling of the polesaw will reduce the likelihood of accidental contact with the moving saw chain. • Follow instructions for lubricating, chain tensioning and changing accessories. Improperly tensioned or lubricated chain may either break or increase the chance for kickback. • Keep handles dry, clean, and free from oil and grease. Greasy, oily handles can cause the user to lose control of the polesaw. • Cut wood only. Do not use polesaw for purposes not intended. For example: do not use polesaw for cutting plastic, masonry or non-wood building materials. Use of the polesaw for operations different than intended could result in a hazardous situation. WARNING: Disconnect the battery before cleaning and changing accessories. DANGER: Keep hands away from cutting area. Keep both hands on handles when power is on. CAUTION: Chain coasts after being turned off. 6
