1 LDAP Feature Overview The LDAP Directory feature contacts an operating LDAP server, binds to that server and then returns attributes associated to the criteria filter selected. The LDAP settings page in EWS facilitates the process of setting up the LDAP connection. Most large customers maintain an address book on a server for client access and the MFP system may be allowed access to this database to access e-mail addresses. LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) is a popular protocol used by large accounts to access large quantities of data including corporate address books. The local system will need to know where the LDAP server is located on the network and may need a login name and password if the LDAP server is not configured to allow NULL names and passwords. The user can use not only local addresses stored in your machine's memory but also ones in the LDAP server(Global Address Book). To use the global addresses, configure the LDAP server first via Embedded Web Server: 3
