Viewing images Question Why is the image too bright? Why is the image out of focus? Why is a part of the image missing? Why is there no image (z is shown)? Why do vertical stripes appear? Answer The subject was too bright. The focus is not locked properly. The image was captured at close range. This may happen when trying to play back images stored on a card from a different digital camera. If a bright subject is shot in the video clip shooting mode, vertical stripes may appear on the LCD monitor or in the image. Action When capturing an image, devise a way to compensate for a bright subject, for example, by changing the shooting angle. Hold the camera correctly and slowly press the still image shooting button halfway to lock the focus. Then press the still image shooting button all the way to capture the image. When capturing an image at close range, compose the image using the LCD monitor. Play back images that were recorded on a card using this camera. Not a malfunction. English 158
