5.3.2 X8 Accelerator Firmware Downgrade Procedure In the event of a necessity to roll back to the previous versions of the driver and firmware, follow the below procedure. NOTE The roll back to driver versions 3.0, 3.1 and 3.1.1 only is supported in this release. NOTE This is a potentially destructive operation and Seagate recommends the back-up of data on the drive before proceeding. ~# cd /opt/vgc/bin/ /opt/vgc/bin # sh vgc-downgrade.sh WARNING! This will downgrade the drive firmware. This is sensitive operation and may potentially cause data loss. All data on all drives must be backed up before the firmware downgrade. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT POWER IS NOT DISCONNECTED DURING THE DOWNGRADE. PLEASE DO NOT INTERRUPT THE DOWNGRADE PROCESS ONCE IT IS STARTED. Do you want to continue? (Yes/No) : Yes Firmware downgrade will start in few seconds, Please wait... Starting migration phase 1/2 ... Done Starting migration phase 2/2 ... Initialize /dev/vgcmgmta-v2_secondary_image Erasing 128 Kibyte @ 1fe0000 -- 100% complete. Upgrading Firmware-- 100 % complete. Verifying Firmware -- 100 % complete. POWER CYCLE the system ### Once the firmware downgrade is completed, DO NOT Power Cycle the host until the following steps are completed. X8 Accelerator Firmware Downgrade Procedure
In the event of a necessity to roll back to the previous versions of the driver and firmware, follow the below procedure.
Once the firmware downgrade is completed, DO NOT Power Cycle the host until the following steps are completed. The
same is also described in README.downgrade under /opt/vgc/bin folder.

Uninstall the current version of installed driver and utils VIBs

The roll back to driver versions 3.0, 3.1 and 3.1.1 only is supported in this release.
