Turning off the operation beep sound You can turn off the beep sound that is heard from your headphones/earphones when you operate your CD player. 1 Remove the power source (AC power adaptor, rechargeable batteries or dry batteries) from the CD player. 2 Connect the power source while pressing x/CHARGE on the CD player or x on the remote control for about one second or more. To turn on the beep sound Remove the power source and then connect the power source without pressing x/CHARGE or x. Turning off the LCD's backlight While you are using the rechargeable batteries or dry batteries, the LCD's backlight turns on for about 5 seconds every time you press a button. However, you can turn off the backlight to save the battery power. 1 Remove the rechargeable batteries or dry batteries from the CD player. 2 Insert the batteries while pressing PLAY MODE. To turn on the LCD's backlight Remove the batteries and then insert the batteries without pressing PLAY MODE.
