Troubleshooting If the unit appears to be malfunctioning, please check the following before contacting your Sony dealer. In this case, you cannot record any more data, even if the disc has sufficient capacity remaining. tErase unnecessary titles or replace the disc (see page 49). • A disc that cannot be used with the unit has been loaded. tUse a DVD+RW disc (see page 27). The unit cannot play. • A disc has not yet been loaded. tLoad a disc (see page 27). • A disc on which no data has been recorded has been loaded. tLoad a recorded disc. • The disc has been loaded cooked. tLoad the disc correctly (see page 27). • A disc that cannot be used with the unit has been loaded. tThe unit cannot play a disc other than the one recorded with the DVD+RW format. • A disc with a region code different from that of the unit has been loaded. tPlay a disc with a region code that is the same as that of the unit (see page 53). • When the unit plays a disc recorded using other equipment, a disc that has not been finalized cannot be played. tFinalize the disc (see page 37). During playback, the image is frozen for a moment (about one second) and the audio breaks up. The unit stops playback between titles, and after about one second, starts playback of the next title.
