Using an SVRM-100A Remote Control Unit (Not Supplied) An SVRM-100A connected to the REMOTE 1 connector on the front panel allows you to control the unit remotely. You can mark indexes and search for the desired indexes using the jog/shuttle dial. This section describes the location and function of parts and search operations that you can carry out using the SVRM-100A. Location and Function of Parts This section describes the functions used for operating the unit. The buttons on the SVRM-100A corresponding to ones on the unit have the same function. 1 FREEZE button 2 INDEX button 3 MARK button 4 ERASE button 5 STOP button 6 REC button 7 PAUSE button 8 F FWD button 9 PLAY button 0 REW button qaJOG/SHUTTLE button qsJOG/SHUTTLE dial 1 FREEZE button Outputs the FREEZE command. 2 INDEX button Outputs the INDEX command. When you press this button once, the unit enters in the index scan mode. When you press this button twice, the unit enters in the index search mode. 3 MARK button Outputs the MARK command. 4 ERASE button Outputs the ERASE command. 5 STOP button Outputs the STOP command. 6 REC button Outputs the REC command. 7 PAUSE button Outputs the PAUSE command. When the unit receives this command during playback, it pauses playback. When the unit receives this command during recording, it pauses recording. 8 F FWD button Has the same function as the >NEXT/DOWN button of the unit. 9 PLAY button Outputs the PLAY command. 0 REW button Has the same function as the .PREV/UP button of the unit. qa JOG/SHUTTLE button To play back in jog/shuttle mode using the jog/ shuttle dial, press this button. The indicator lights up. qs JOG/SHUTTLE dial The playback direction and speed are determined according to the position of the shuttle dial, and the search command is output. The jog dial becomes effective when the shuttle dial is set to the STILL position. The playback speed and direction are determined according to the direction in which the dial is turned and the speed, and the search command is output. Marking Indexes You can mark indexes at the desired point during recording and playback. 1 Set the unit in the recording or playback mode. 2 Press the MARK button at the instant when the image to which the index is to be put is displayed. You can mark up to 99 indexes in one title and up to 254 indexes on one disc. Searching for a Particular Image Index Scanning 1 Load a disc on which indexes are recorded. 2 Set the unit in stop mode or playback mode. Location and Function of Parts
This section describes the functions used for operating
the unit. The buttons on the SVRM-100A corresponding

Outputs the FREEZE command.
