Useful functions for shooting [ W/T Using the zoom Slide the zoom lever toward T to zoom in, slide the zoom lever toward W to zoom out. • This camera is only capable of digital zoom. • When using the zoom, the image may not zoom in or zoom out smoothly. • When the movie is shot in the size of [1080 30P], the zoom scale the camera enlarges will be up to approximately 2×. • When the movie is shot in the size of either [1080 30P] or [720 30P] and the camera is connected to a TV, etc, with the Component A/V cable at the same time, the zoom function will be unavailable. [ Using the self-timer Tilt the multi-selector to V ( ). (No indicator): Not using the self-timer : Using the self-timer If you press PHOTO, countdown timer is displayed, and after rapid beep sounds are heard, the camera will shoot. [ Recording in mirror mode Rotate the lens portion to the same direction the LCD screen is facing. • A mirror-image of the subject appears on the LCD screen, but the image will be normal when recorded. • The same image as those recorded appears on the LCD screen instead of the mirror-image in playback mode. • The image may become distorted when you rotate the lens portion from the front to the same direction the LCD screen is facing, or in the opposite way. [ Changing the screen display Each time you tilt the multi-selector to v (DISP), the display changes as follows. Histogram on* r Indicators off r Indicators on * During playback, the image information is displayed. [ Selecting the image size Press (Image size) button to select (Photo Size) or (Movie Size) with the multi-selector tilt to b/B, then select the desired image size with v/V. To turn off the Image Size menu, press the (Image size) button again. (Photo Size): 5M: For prints up to A4 (8×10") 3:2: Shoot in 3:2 aspect ratio 3M: For prints up to 10×15 cm (4×6") or 13×18 cm (5×7") 2M: For prints up to 10×15 cm (4×6") VGA: Shoot at a small image size for e-mail attachment (Movie Size): 1080 30P: Shoot HD (high definition) quality movies in sizes suited for display on computer or high definition TV 17
