Step 3: Connect the VGP-XL1B to the Host Computer Note: Before you begin, make sure that the power has been turned off to the host computer and any peripheral equipment. Connecting the VGP-XL1B CD/DVD Changer/Recorder to the your computer is a simple process requiring only a single cable. 1 Using the supplied i.LINK® cable, connect the end without the ferrite bead (a large node close to one end of the cable) to an i.LINK® connector on the host computer, and connect the cable end with the ferrite bead to an i.LINK® connector on the back panel of the VGP-XL1B CD/DVD Changer/Recorder. 2 Turn the power to the host computer on before turning the power on the VGP-XL1B CD/DVD Changer/Recorder. To verify that the installation was successful, do one of the following. To verify using Device Manager 1 Click Start from the Window taskbar, and then click Control Panel. 2 Double-click System and select the Hardware tab from the System Properties dialog box. 3 From the Hardware tab page, select Device Manager. Check for VGP-XL1B under Medium Changers. To verify using Media Center 1 Start Media Center. 2 From the Start menu, select More Programs and then look for the Manage Discs option. 18 VGP-XL1B User Guide
