Page 8 4.1.2 Maintenance / repair Technical Information 02.2005 4.1.3 Basic setting without limiter cap The limiter cap for the main set screw must be taken off when exchanging a damaged set screw or cleaning the carburetor. . Remove the limiter cap with a suitable tool (1) A used cap may not be reused, as they are damaged when pulled off. Adjustment after maintenance / repair . Check air filter - clean or replace if necessary. . Check spark arresting screen (if installed) - clean or replace if necessary. . Check the chain tension. . Starting from the tight position of the adjusting screw: Back off H = 1 turn Back off L = 1 turn Set the specified speeds within the tolerance range of +/- 200 rpm. 1. Set speed to 3,500 rpm with idle speed adjusting screw (LA). 2. Turn the low speed screw (L) clockwise or anticlockwise to set the highest speed. If this speed is greater than 3,900 rpm, stop and start again with step 1. 3. Set the speed to 3,500 rpm again with idle speed adjusting screw (LA). 4. Set the speed to 3,000 rpm with low speed screw (L). 5. Set the maximum speed of 13,500 rpm with the high speed adjusting screw (H). If the setting is too lean, the engine may be damaged by overheating and a shortage of lubricant. 6. Continue with "securing the limiter cap". TI_02_2005_11_01_01.fm
