English / USA Spark Arresting Screen in Muffler* Checking the Spark Plug Fine tuning for operation at high altitude A slight correction of the setting may be necessary if engine power is not satisfactory when operating at high altitude: : Check the standard setting. : Warm up the engine. Turn the high speed screw (H) clockwise (leaner) - no further than stop. : If the engine is down on power, check the spark arresting screen in the muffler. : Wait for the muffler to cool down. 1 2 213BA016 KN 000BA002 KN If the setting is too lean there is a risk of engine damage due to insufficient lubrication and overheating. : Take out the screw (1). : Remove the spark arresting screen (2). : Clean the spark arresting screen. If the screen is damaged or heavily carbonized, fit a new one. : Refit the spark arresting screen. : Fit the screw and tighten it down firmly. Wrong fuel mix (too much engine oil in the gasoline), a dirty air filter and unfavorable running conditions (mostly at part throttle etc.) affect the condition of the spark plug. These factors cause deposits to form on the insulator nose which may result in trouble in operation. * see "Guide to Using this Manual" 46 MS 341, MS 361, MS 361 C
