Chapter 21 System Commands System Commands can be used to configure the System information and System IP, reboot and reset the switch, upgrade the switch system and other operations. system-descript Description The system-descript command is used to configure the Device Name, Device Location and System Contact. To clear all the information, please use no system-descript command. Syntax system-descript {sysname {sysname} | location {location} | contact-info {contact_info} } no system-descript {sysname | location | contact_info} Parameter sysname -- System Name(Device Name). The length of the name ranges from 1 to 32 characters. By default, it is empty. location -- Device Location. It consists of 32 characters at most. By default, it is empty. contact_info -- Contact Information. It consists of 32 characters at most. By default, it is empty. Command Mode Global Configuration Mode Example Configure the System Contact as www.tp-link.com: TP-LINK(config)# system-descript contact-info www.tp-link.com system-time gmt Description The system-time gmt command is used to configure the time zone and the IP Address for the NTP Server.
