Select the appropriate radio button and click Next and Finish. 4.4 Adding Network Printers in Windows Follow the instructions below to use the standard Windows Add Printer Wizard and the Control Center for adding a network printer in Windows 98 SE, ME, 2000, XP and 2003. # Note: 1. Before adding a network printer, you are advised to install the local Windows printer driver in advance. 2. Before using network printer, you have to turn on "Use Printer Online" in installed network printer driver and then you can use the printer. 3. A computer using LPR or IPP printing and a computer using NetUSB printing can not print documents to the same printer simultaneously 4. To find the Port name/Queue name, refer to "Supported Protocol Status" on page 73. 4.4.1 Using Standard Windows Methods for LPR Printing Protocol Windows Platform: Windows 2000, XP and 2003 1. Open Printers and Faxes 2. Right-click the printer for which you want to change settings, and then click Properties/ports 3. Clear Enable bidirectional support and click Add port, and then click Standard TCP/IP Port from the dropdown and click New port. 4. The "Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard" will pop up and click Next. 24

Adding Network Printers in Windows
Follow the instructions below to use the standard Windows Add Printer Wizard and the
Control Center for adding a network printer in Windows 98 SE, ME, 2000, XP and
2003.
Note:
1.
Before adding a network printer, you are advised to install the local Windows
printer driver in advance.
2.
Before using network printer, you have to turn on “Use Printer Online” in
installed network printer driver and then you can use the printer.
3.

Open Printers and Faxes

Right-click the printer for which you want to change settings, and then click
Properties/ports

Enable bidirectional support
