Welcome Getting Ready Troubleshooting If you experience any of the following issues while using the gigabeat, check the following guide for the possible cause before requesting service. Issue The gigabeat doesn't power up. The button doesn't work. The battery is consumed quickly after charge. Playback cannot be performed. There is no sound. Cause The BATTERY switch is set to OFF. There is insufficient power remaining in the built-in battery. The gigabeat is in HOLD mode. The button is not being pressed long enough. The gigabeat is connected to a PC. The built-in battery has failed. There is no track. The EARBUDS are not connected properly. Solution Set the BATTERY switch to ON. Connect the AC adapter and charge the built-in battery. Reset the HOLD switch to cancel the HOLD mode. When turning on the power, press the POWER button for two seconds or longer. The gigabeat cannot be operated while being connected to a PC. Replace with a new battery. To replace the built-in battery, contact TOSHIBA Customer Service by calling. (Phone # on "Stop SHEET") Use gigabeat room to transfer tracks. Check the connection between the EARBUDS and wired remote control and main unit. The charge indicator turned off while the AC adapter was connected. The PC does not recognize the gigabeat. The volume is set to the minimum. The BATTERY switch is set to OFF. The gigabeat is not connected properly. Outside the specified operating-temperature range. The charge is automatically stopped to limit the temperature increase in the gigabeat. The gigabeat is not properly connected to the PC. Adjust the volume. 36 Set the BATTERY switch to 30 ON. Check the connection between 30 the AC adapter/AC cable and the main unit. Solution
Set the BATTERY switch to
ON
.
Connect the AC adapter and
charge the built-in battery.
Reset the HOLD switch to
cancel the HOLD mode.
When turning on the power,
press the POWER button for
two seconds or longer.
The gigabeat cannot be
operated while being con-
nected to a PC.
Replace with a new battery. To
replace the built-in battery,
