135 Expansion Options Connecting a local printer To connect a USB printer: 1 Plug the USB connector into one of the USB ports on your computer 2 Plug the printer's power cable into a live AC outlet. To connect a parallel printer: Connecting the parallel printer cable while the computer is on may damage the printer, the computer, or both. 1 Connect the printer cable to the printer and to the computer's parallel port. This special program acts as a translator that turns your document into a form the printer can understand. If you are using any non-Windows® programs, set up a printer driver for each of those programs. Refer to your program's documentation for more information. TECHNICAL NOTE: If you have the manufacturer's disk that came with your printer, you can use it to install the printer on your computer. The manufacturer's disk may include additional drivers and fonts.
