Multiple handset use Intercom Use the intercom feature for conversations between two system handsets, or a handset and a headset. Only one intercom call can be established at a time. Caller ID log >Intercom To initiate an intercom call: 1. Press MENU when the handset is not in use. 2. Press or to scroll to Intercom, then press SELECT. • If you have one handset and one headset, your handset displays Calling headset. INTERCOM TO: >HANDSET X • If you have two handsets, your handset displays Calling other handset. • If you have three or more handsets and/or headsets, your handset displays INTERCOM TO: Press or to scroll to the desired handset or headset then press SELECT, or enter a handset number (1-9 for HANDSETS 1-9, and 0 for HANDSET 10, and 1 for HANDSET 11, and 2 for HANDSET 12, and 1 for HEADSET 1 or and 2 for HEADSET 2). The destination handset rings and its screen displays Other handset is calling or HANDSET Y is calling, or the destination headset earpiece rings and the light flashes in blue. 3. To answer the intercom call on the destination handset, press /HOME, CELL 1, CELL 2, or any dialing key (0-9 or ). Both handsets now show Intercom. To end the intercom call on either handset, one party presses OFF or places the handset back in the telephone base or handset charger. The originating handset displays Intercom ended. • You can cancel the intercom call before it is answered by pressing OFF. • If the destination handset does not answer the intercom call within 100 seconds, or if it is out of range, on a call, or accessing the answering system, phonebook or caller ID log, your handset displays No answer.
