FABRIC FRESHENER SAFETY Your safety and the safety of others are very important. We have provided many important safety messages in this manual and on your appliance. Always read and obey all safety messages. This is the safety alert symbol. This symbol alerts you to potential hazards that can kill or hurt you and others. All safety messages will follow the safety alert symbol and either the word "DANGER" or "WARNING." These words mean: You can be killed or seriously injured if you don't immediately follow instructions. You can be killed or seriously injured if you don't follow instructions. All safety messages will tell you what the potential hazard is, tell you how to reduce the chance of injury, and tell you what can happen if the instructions are not followed. IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons when using the appliance, follow basic precautions, including the following: s Read all instructions before using the appliance. s Do not use in garages or use near any flammable liquids or gases. s Use appliance only for its intended use. s To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquids. s Never yank the cord to disconnect from outlet; instead grasp plug and pull to disconnect. s Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces. Let appliance cool completely before putting away. When storing appliance, loop cord around cord storage wrap on back of appliance. s Do not operate appliance with a damaged cord, or if the appliance has been dropped or damaged. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble or attempt to repair the appliance. Take it to a qualified service person for examination and repair. Incorrect reassembly or repair could cause a risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons when the appliance is used. s Close supervision is necessary for any appliance being used by or near children. s Burns could occur from touching hot metal parts, hot water, or steam. Use care when you turn a steam appliance upside down - there may be hot water in the reservoir. s To reduce the likelihood of circuit overload, do not operate another high wattage appliance on the same circuit. s To reduce the risk of electric shock, this appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet. Do not change the plug in any way. s If an extension cord is absolutely necessary, a 12-ampere rated cord should be used. Cords rated for less amperage may overheat. Care should be taken to arrange the cord so that the cord cannot be pulled or tripped over. s Always disconnect appliance from electrical outlet when filling with water, emptying, and when not in use.
