Instructions for accessing the Fax Setup options are provided on page 4-30. OPTION Lighten/Darken Resolution Receive Mode Fax Duplex SETTINGS 5 Contrast Settings Standard Fine Super Fine Tel Fax Ans/Fax DRPD Off Long Edge Short Edge DESCRIPTION Use to set the default Lighten/Darken setting. Use to set the default resolution for fax jobs. Use to operate in manual mode. When a call is received pick up the external phone handset or press [Manual Dial]. If a fax tone can be heard, press [Start] and replace the handset. The machine answers the incoming call and immediately switches to fax receive mode. Use if attaching an answering machine to the machine. If the machine detects a fax tone, it switches to Fax mode automatically. You can receive a call using the Distinctive Ring Pattern Detection (DRPD) feature. This option is available when you setup DRPD mode. Use to de-activate Fax Duplex.
