Black Trapping Black Trapping Black trapping intelligently spreads color to the black edge areas when combined with colored text, graphics, or images. Black trapping is set to ON by default in the driver to ensure the best print-quality when black text is printed over a region of color or when colored text is printed over a region of black. To turn black trapping on or off in a supported driver: Operating System Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003 PostScript driver Mac OS 9 driver Mac OS X (version 10.2 and higher) driver Steps 1. Select the Layout tab. 2. Click the Advanced button. 3. Expand Document Options and Printer Features. 4. Under Black Trapping, select On or Off. 5. Click OK. 1. In the Print dialog box, select Print Quality from the drop-down list. 2. In the Print Quality dialog box, select Color 1 from the drop-down list. 3. Select ON or OFF for Black Trapping. 1.
