Printer Settings Setting the Default Punch Option If the printer has a finisher, the Punch Option setting specifies the default for punching output. Print jobs use the default punch option unless a different option is selected in the printer driver when a job is sent to the printer. To select the default punch option, use one of the following options: ■ The printer's control panel ■ CentreWare IS Using the Control Panel The factory default option for punching holes is Off. To select the default punch option on the control panel: 1. Select Printer Setup, and then press the OK button. 2. Select Paper Handling Setup, and then press the OK button. 3. Scroll to Punch, select either On or Off, and then press the OK button. 4. If your finisher has a 2- / 4-hole punch installed, select 2 Holes or 4 Holes, and then press the OK button. 5. If your finisher has a 3-hole punch installed, select 3 Holes, and then press the OK button. Using CentreWare IS To select the default hole-punching option using CentreWare IS: 1. Launch your web browser. 2. Enter the printer's IP address in the browser's Address field (http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx). 3. Click Properties. 4. Select General on the left sidebar, and then select Printer Defaults. 5. Select On from the Punch drop-down list to turn on hole punching. The default setting is Off. 6. Select the appropriate hole-punching option from the Punch Holes drop-down list. The default setting is 3. 7. Click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page.
