Do not use it with other equipment. ∏ 1 Remote control ∏ 2 Batteries for remote control ∏ 1 Audio/video cable ∏ 1 Power cable Disc information ∫ Discs that can be played Disc type Logo DVD-Audio Indication in these operating instructions [DVD-A] ∫ Discs that cannot be played DVD-ROM, DVD-RAM, CD-ROM, CDV, CD-G, CVD, SVCD, SACD, Divx Video Discs, Photo CD, etc. ∫ DVDs that can be played You can play discs with these symbols. DVD-Video DVDrRW/rR§1 DVD-R/RW§1, §2 [DVD-V] Video CD CD [VCD] [CD] CD-R/RW§1 [VCD] [CD] [MP3] §1 Some discs cannot be played depending on the disc characteristics or recording conditions. §2 This unit can play DVD-R/RW if they are recorded with the Video Format. Do not use irregularly shaped discs (e.g. heart-shaped), as these can damage the unit. ∫ Region number supported by this player Region numbers are allocated to DVD players and software according to where they are sold. ≥The region number of this player is "2". ≥The player will play DVD-Video marked with labels containing "2" or "ALL". Example: 2 ALL 235 ∫ Playing DVDs and Video CDs The producer of these discs can control how they are played so you may not always be able to control play as described in these operating instructions. Read the disc's instructions carefully. ∫ Video systems ≥This unit can play PAL and NTSC, but your television must match the system used on the disc. ≥PAL discs cannot be correctly viewed on an NTSC television. ≥This unit can convert NTSC signals to PAL 60 for viewing on a PAL television (➡ page 18, Video-NTSC Disc Output). ∫ CD-R and CD-RW discs This unit can play CD-R and CD-RW if they are formatted as CD-DA (digital audio) or video CD and finalized§3. ∫ DVD-R/RW and DVDrRW/rR discs Discs recorded and finalized§3 on a DVD video recorder. §3 A process that allows play on compatible equipment. ∫ To clean discs Wipe with a damp cloth and then wipe dry. ∫ Handling precautions ≥Do not write on the label side with a ball-point pen or other writing instrument. ≥Do not use record cleaning sprays, benzine, thinner, static electricity prevention liquids or any other solvent. ≥Do not attach labels or stickers to discs. (Do not use discs with exposed adhesive from tape or left over peeled-off stickers.) ≥Do not use scratch-proof protectors or covers. ≥Do not use discs printed with label printers available on the market.
