Basic Operations Setting Up Turning the Power On/Off Turn down the MASTER VOLUME control to "MIN" then press the [ ] (Standby/On) switch to turn on the power. While playing the keyboard, adjust the MASTER VOLUME control. To turn off the power, press the [ ] (Standby/On) switch again for a second. CAUTION • When using a power adaptor, even when the power is off, a small amount of electricity is still being consumed by the instrument. When you are not using the instrument for a long time, make sure to unplug the AC power adaptor from the wall AC outlet. Auto Power Off Function To prevent unnecessary power consumption, this instrument features an Auto Power Off function that automatically turns the power off if the instrument is not operated for a specified period of time. The amount of time that will elapse before the power is automatically turned off is set by default to 30 minutes.  To disable the Auto Power Off function: Turn off the power, then press the [ ] (Standby/On) switch to turn on the power while holding down the lowest key. • When the instrument is not operated for a specified period of time while connected to an external device such as an amplifier, speaker or computer, make sure to follow the instructions in the Owner's Manual to turn off the power to the instrument and the connected devices, in order to protect the devices from damage. If you do not want the power to turn off automatically when a device is connected, disable Auto Power Off. Selecting Operations Before operating the instrument, it may be helpful to familiarize yourself with the basic controls below that are used to select items and change values.  Dial Decrease Increase Rotate the dial clockwise to increase the value, or counter- clockwise to decrease the value.  Number buttons Use the Number buttons to directly enter an item or value. For numbers that start with one or two zeroes, the first zeroes can be omitted. Example: Selecting Voice 003, Bright Piano. Press number buttons [0], [0], [3].  [-] and [+] buttons Press the [+] button briefly to increase the value by 1, or press the [-] button briefly to decrease the value by 1. Press and hold either button to continuously increase or decrease the value in the corresponding direction.  To set the time that elapses before Auto Power Off is executed: Press the [FUNCTION] button, press the CATEGORY [+] or [-] button several times until "Auto Power Off" appears then select the desired value. Settings: OFF, 5, 10, 15, 30, 60, 120 Default value: 30 NOTE • Generally, the data and settings are maintained even when the power is turned off. For details, see page 32. NOTICE • Depending on the instrument status, the power may not turn off automatically, even after the elapse of the specified period of time. Setting Up
Basic Operations
Turning the Power On/Off
Turn down the MASTER VOLUME control to “MIN”
then press the [
] (Standby/On) switch to turn on the
power. While playing the keyboard, adjust the MAS-
TER VOLUME control. To turn off the power, press
the [
] (Standby/On) switch again for a second.
Auto Power Off Function
To prevent unnecessary power consumption, this
instrument features an Auto Power Off function that
automatically turns the power off if the instrument is
not operated for a specified period of time. The amount
of time that will elapse before the power is automati-
cally turned off is set by default to 30 minutes.
To disable the Auto Power Off function:
Turn off the power, then press the [
] (Standby/On)
switch to turn on the power while holding down the
lowest key.
To set the time that elapses before Auto
Power Off is executed:
Press the [FUNCTION] button, press the CATEGORY
[+] or [-] button several times until “Auto Power Off”
appears then select the desired value.
Settings:
OFF, 5, 10, 15, 30, 60, 120
Default value:
30
Selecting Operations
Before operating the instrument, it may be helpful to
familiarize yourself with the basic controls below that
are used to select items and change values.
Dial
Rotate the dial clockwise to
increase the value, or counter-
clockwise to decrease the
value.
Number buttons
Use the Number buttons to directly enter an item or

Press the [+] button briefly to increase the value by 1, or
press the [-] button briefly to decrease the value by 1.
