If You're Stuck: In Sand, Mud, Ice or Snow What you don't want to when your vehicle is stuck do is to spin your wheels too The method knownas fast. For information about using tire chains your vehicle, on 1 see "Tire Chains" in the I :x. I you let your tires spin high speed, they can f at explode, and you or others could be injured. And, the transaxleor other parts the vehicle of can overheat.That could causean engine compartment fireor otherdamage. When you're stuck, spin the wheels as little as possible. Don't spin thewheels above 35 mph (55 km/h) asshown on the speedometer. Rocking Your Vehicle To Get It Out First, turn your steering wheel and right. That will left clear the area around your front wheels. Then shift back and forth between REVERSE (R) and a forward gear, spinning the wheels as little as possible. (If your vehicle has the Enhanced Traction System, shift back and forth between REVERSE (R) and FIRST(1) or SECOND (2), spinning the wheels as little as possible.) Release the accelerator pedal while you shift, and press lightly on the accelerator pedal when the transaxle in gear. If is that doesn't get you out after a few tries, you may need to be towedout.
