Air Cleaner PO483 To Remove the Air Cleaner Filter: Ifyouhavethe 4.3L engine (VIN Code Z) withtheroundaircleaner,you mustfirstremovetheenginecoverbeforechangingthefilter.(See"Engine Cover"earlier in this section.)Afterremovingtheenginecover,unscrewthe wingnut to take the cover off theaircleaner.Afterchangingthefilter,put thecoverbackonandbesure the wingnutisproperlytightened.Besure aircleaner lid iscorrectlypositionedtosealoutdustandcontaminantsthat areharmful to yourengine. If youhavethe 4.3L engine (VIN Code W) withthesquareaircleaner,you canchangetheaircleanerfilterwithoutremoving the enginecover.Justlift thehood,unsnapbothclipsandremove the top.Afterchangingthefilter, snap both clips to securetheaircleaner.Besureaircleaner lid iscorrectly positioned to sealoutdustandcontaminantsthatareharmful to yourengine.
