Then follow the hot check procedures. To check transmission fluid cold: A cold checkismadeafterthevehicle hasbeensittingfor 8 hours or morewiththeengine off andisusedonlyas for 5 minutes if outsidetemperatures areference.Lettheenginerunatidle are 50°F (10°C) or more.
