Scheduled Maintenance Services ParkingbrakeandtransmissionP(Park)mechanismoperation - Whenyou aredoingthischeck,yourvehiclecouldbegin to move. L Youor otherscouldbeinjuredandpropertycouldbedamaged. Makesurethereisroom in front ofyour vehicle in caseyoubegin to roll.Bereadytoapplytheregularbrakeatonceshouldthe vehiclebegintomove. Parkonafairlysteephill,withthevehiclefacingdownhill.Keepingyourfoot ontheregularbrake,setthemanualparkingbrake. To checktheparkingbrake:Withtheenginerunningandthe transmission in N (Neutral),slowlyremovefootpressurefromtheregular brakepedal.Dothisuntilthevehicleisheldbytheparkingbrakeonly. To checkthe P (Park)mechanism'sholdingability:Applytheregular brakeandshift to P (Park).Releasethemanualparkingbrake,then slowlyreleasetheregularbrake. Lapandshoulderbeltsconditionandoperation -Inspectbeltsystem, including:webbing,buckles,latchplates,retractors,guideloopsandanchors. if thewebbinghasbeencutorotherwise Haveabeltassemblyreplaced damaged. Body LubricationService -Lubricateallbodydoorhingesincludingthe tailgate,tailgatehandlepivotpoints,andtailgatemountedspare tire carrier (if equipped),lubricatethebodyhood,fueldoorandrearcompartmenthinges, latches, anylocksandanymovingseathardware.Lubricatethehoodsafety leverpivotandprop rod pivot. Morefrequentlubricationmayberequired whenexposedtoacorrosiveenvironment. 7-1 2
