Maintenance and care Headlamp aiming • Your vehicle is equipped with headlamps designed to meet Visual aim requirements according to FMVSS 108, table 17Ć2. • Your headlamps are marked VOL [visual/optical (aiming) left]. This means that the left side of the light patterns for each low beam headlamp is used to aim the lamp (Fig. 1). • Each headlamp may be properly aimed in the vertical (up/down) direction only. The horizontal (left/right) aim is preset by the headlamp manufacturer and does not need to be reĆaimed. • Turning the headlamp adjusting screws V1 and V2 in the directions indicated by the embedded arrows (Fig. 2) represents a change in vertical aim direction. Turn clockwise for up and counterĆ clockwise for down. It is important that both adjusting screws are turned by an equal number of revolutions or parts of revolutions and are turned as well in the same direction. Turn V1 before V2. Never V2 before V1. Failing this requirement leads to improperly aimed headlamps and may cause glare light for oncoming drivers. For example, if one of your low beam headlamps is aimed too low, you will turn V1 and V2 clockwise an equal number of revolutions until correct aim is achieved. Maintenance and care
Headlamp aiming
Your vehicle
is equipped
with
headlamps
designed
to meet Visual
aim requirements
according
to
FMVSS 108,
table
17Ć2.
Your headlamps
are
marked
VOL
[visual/optical
(aiming)
left].
This
means that
the
left
side
of
the
light
patterns
for
each
low beam
headlamp
is used
to aim
the
lamp
(Fig.
1).
Each headlamp
may
be
properly
aimed in
the
vertical
(up/down)
direction
only.
The
horizontal
(left/right)
aim is preset by
the
headlamp
manufacturer
and
does
not need
to be
reĆaimed.
Turning
the
headlamp
adjusting
screws
V1 and
V2 in
the
directions
indicated
by
the
embedded
arrows
(Fig.
2) represents
a
change
in
vertical
aim direction.
Turn
clockwise
for
up
and
counterĆ
clockwise
for
down. It
is
important
that both
adjusting
screws
are
turned
by
an
equal
number
of
revolutions
or
parts of
revolutions
and are
turned
as well
in
the
same
direction.
Turn
V1 before
V2.
Never
V2
before
V1.
Failing this
requirement
leads
to
improperly
aimed
headlamps
and
may cause
glare
light
for
oncoming
drivers.
For
example,
if
one
of your
low beam headlamps
is
aimed too low,
you
will
turn
V1 and
V2 clockwise
an
equal
number
of
revolutions
until
correct aim
is
achieved.
