Maintenance and care • A screen or wall with a reference line (as described below) is needed in order to adjust the vertical position of each lamp's light pattern cutĆoff line. The cutĆoff line is the line formed between the bright lower portion and the dark upper portion of each lamp's light pattern. (Fig. 1). Adjusting the vertical aim 1. The surrounding light level during the aiming process must be kept as low as possible (in a darkened enclosure or outside at night), as the light level has a major influence on the accuracy of the headlamp aim. 2. A flat vertical screen at least one meter wider than the vehicle is needed. A level surface on which to park the vehicle in front of the screen is also required. 3. Center the vehicle 7.6 meters in front of this screen (Figs. 3 and 4). 4. Measure the height of the low beam lamp center from the ground. Subtract 52 mm from this figure. Place a horizontal reference line on the wall at this height, masking tape works well for this. The line should be at least three meters long (Figs. 3 and 4). Fig. 2

Maintenance and care
A screen
or
wall
with
a
reference
line
(as described
below) is
needed
in order
to adjust
the
vertical
position
of each
lamp's
light pattern
cutĆoff line.
The
cutĆoff
line
is
the
line
formed
between
the
bright
lower
portion
and
the
dark upper
portion
of each
lamp's light pattern.
(Fig.
1).
Adjusting the vertical aim
1. The
surrounding
light level
during the
aiming
process
must be
kept as
low as possible
(in
a
darkened
enclosure
or
outside
at
night),
as the
light
level
has
a
major
influence
on
the
accuracy
of
the
headlamp
aim.
2. A flat
vertical
screen
at least
one
meter
wider
than
the
vehicle
is
needed.
A
level
surface
on
which
to
park
the
vehicle
in
front of
the
screen is also required.
3. Center
the
vehicle
7.6 meters
in
front of this screen
(Figs.
3 and
4).
4. Measure
the
height of
the
low
beam lamp
center
from
the
ground.
Subtract
52 mm from
this
figure.
Place
a horizontal
reference
line
on
the
wall
at
this height,
masking
tape
works well
for
this.
The
line
should
be
at
least
three
meters
long
(Figs.
3 and
4).
