Trunk Remote Trunk Release (If Equipped) 1 It can be dangerous to drive with the trunk lid open becausecarbon monoxide (CO)gas can come into your vehicle. You can't seeor smell CO. It can cause unconsciousnessand even death. If you must drive with the trunk lid open or if electrical wiringor other cable connections must pass through the seal between the body and the trunk lid: Make sure all windows are shut. Turn the fan on your heating or cooling the system to its highest speed with setting on any airflow selection except MAX. That will force outside air into your vehicle. See "Comfort Controls"in theIndex. If you have air outlets on or under the instrument panel, open them all way. the See LCEngine Exhaust" in the Index. ~ Pull upward on the remote release handle, located on the floor near the left side of the driver's seat, to release the trunk lid.
