52 Removing a memory module 3 System upgrades Important: Before removing any DIMM from the mainboard, make sure to create a backup file of all important data. 1 Perform steps 1 through 3 of the previous section. 2 Remove the memory module. (1) Press the holding clips on both sides of the slot outward to release the DIMM. (2) Gently pull the DIMM upward to remove it from the slot. 3 If you intend to install a new DIMM, refer to the previous section, otherwise observe the post-installation instructions described on page 29.

Removing a memory module
Important:
Before removing any DIMM from the mainboard,
make sure to create a backup file of all important data.

Perform steps 1 through 3 of the previous section.

Remove the memory module.
(1)
Press the holding clips on both sides of the slot outward to
release the DIMM.
(2)
Gently pull the DIMM upward to remove it from the slot.
