There are two ways to register a digital ID:  In advance: You can set up the ID ahead of time for later use. To do so, choose Advanced (Acrobat) or Document (Reader) > Security Settings, selecting Digital IDs in the left-hand tree, and then choosing Add ID.  On the fly: You can find or add IDs in signature and certificate security workflows.
