AuthenTec Biometric Fingerprint Sensor Technology
AuthenTec’s unique semiconductor-based fin-
gerprint reader uses small RF signals to detect
the fingerprint ridge and valley pattern.
The RF
electronic imaging mechanism called (TruePrint
technology ) works by reading the fingerprint pat
-
tern from the live, highly-conductive layer of skin that lies just beneath the skin’s dry outer surface layer.
AuthenTec’s TruePrint-based sensors are less affected by common skin surface conditions -- including
dry, worn, calloused, dirty or oily skin -- that can impair the ability of other sensors to acquire accurate
fingerprint images. That makes TruePrint sensor technology capable of acquiring everyone’s fingerprint
under virtually any condition.
AuthenTec sensors use patented RF based TruePrint technology which is very hard to spoof.
AuthenTec’s patented TruePrint technology is the only subsurface reading technology on the market
for better security and these benefits: detects live tissue under the outer skin, less susceptible to su
-
perficial marks such as cuts and dirt, harder to spoof.
Sophisticated pattern matching technology results in lower false accept rates, lower false reject rates,
lower failure-to-enrolls, and more reliable operation.
TruePrint technology results in better performance for fingers that are dry/worn, older/younger, that
change over time, dirty, with cuts or scars.
AuthenTec’s patented approach to hermetically sealing the sensor results in a protective coating that
is three times thicker than others, smaller size so that exposed silicon is nearly eight times less than
the others, and nickel ring surrounding the sensor absorbs electrostatic discharges.
