D6_Bobbin_centerpin_brother.fm Page 1 Thursday, June 2, 2005 11:32 AM Using Prewound Bobbins When using a prewound bobbin, not included with this machine, set the bobbin by following the steps below. ■ Using Prewound Bobbins with Standard GREEN Marked Bobbin Case Use the standard GREEN marked bobbin case when embroidering with the recommended bobbin thread wound on included bobbins. When using prewound bobbins (not included with this machine) it is recommended to use prewound COATS "L" type with the standard GREEN marked bobbin case. (See "Using Bobbin Center Pin (Spacer)".) ■ Using Bobbin Center Pin (Spacer) The bobbin center pin (spacer) can be used with either the GREEN or PINK marked bobbin cases. Use the bobbin center pin (spacer) for better thread flow, bobbin stability and to provide the correct height for prewound bobbins in the bobbin case. ■ Using Prewound Bobbins with Alternate PINK Marked Bobbin Case Use the alternate bobbin case (pink marking) when a tighter bobbin tension is needed. For replacing the bobbin case, see page of "CARE AND MAINTENANCE" in the operation manual. a Remove the bobbin cover. b Set the bobbin center pin. a Memo Some models do not include the alternate bobbin case (pink marking). Note • The bobbin thread sensor does not work when prewound bobbins with a center core are used. • Due to coating on prewound bobbin thread, the bobbin case may require cleaning occasionally. a Bobbin center pin c Set the prewound bobbin in the direction as a regular bobbin. same d When using a paper-sided prewound bobbin, remove the side paper on the top side of the prewound bobbin. a a Top paper e Follow steps from "Setting/Installing the Bobbin" in the operation manual.
