Configuring CDP Chapter 24 Configuring CDP Disabling and Enabling CDP on an Interface CDP is enabled by default on all supported interfaces to send and receive CDP information. Beginning in privileged EXEC mode, follow these steps to disable CDP on an interface: Step 1 Step 2 Command configure terminal interface interface-id Step 3 Step 4 Step 5 no cdp enable end copy running-config startup-config Purpose Enter global configuration mode. Specify the interface on which you are disabling CDP, and enter interface configuration mode. Disable CDP on the interface. Return to privileged EXEC mode. (Optional) Save your entries in the configuration file. Beginning in privileged EXEC mode, follow these steps to enable CDP on an interface when it has been disabled: Step 1 Step 2 Command configure terminal interface interface-id Step 3 Step 4 Step 5 cdp enable end copy running-config startup-config Purpose Enter global configuration mode.
