The C1048P has one internal power supply. The AC and DC power connectors are on the back panel (see Back Panel). To power up a C1048P, connect it to an AC power source: 1. Using an IEC-320-C15 power cable with safety ground, connect the power cable to the AC main receptacle on the back panel. 2. Connect the power cable to a grounded AC outlet. If you connect to a redundant, external DC power supply, use the Dell Networking MPS1000. Connect the DC power cable from the power supply to the DC receptacle on the back panel. After you connect the C1048P to a power source, the C1048P boots up. After a successful boot-up, the temperature, power, system status, and fan LEDs display solid green. The fans adjust to an operational speed based on the current traffic load. The SFP+ Link LED displays solid green when the uplink to the parent C9010 is up. The SFP+ Activity LED blinks green when the uplink is transmitting/receiving data. 18 Installing the Hardware
